Another nightlife spot bites the dust: The Butter Factory at One Fullerton, after almost a decade in the business, has decided to close when its lease expires in March 2015.
As with Zouk, rent was cited to be the issue – The Butter Factory and landlord Sino Group couldn’t reach an agreement after negotiations. But don’t be too sad just yet: the group is planning a wholly different club concept, and was reported to have placed a bid for a space at the Asian Civilisations Museum, alongside The Prive Group and Tadcaster Hospitality, which manages Molly Malone’s and BQ Bar at Boat Quay.
Bang Bang
If you’re looking to party up at somewhere new this weekend, hit up Empire, located on the 45th floor of Singapore Land Tower (the same venue where Vogue Club was earlier rumoured to open). The chic indoor-outdoor penthouse lounge by Massive Collective, the folks behind Filter, Mink, Fenix Room, Match and Bang Bang, is debuting this F1 weekend (19 to 21 September) with DJs Mikey Moran on Friday, Friz on Saturday, and Sabrina and Anuar on Sunday.
