It’s throwback everyday at Nineteen80, the newest pub to celebrate nostalgia with retro games, 80s hits, neon-heavy photo ops and signature cocktails.
Tanjong Pagar is living it up with a string of bars and pubs and the latest to join the game is Nineteen80. Paying homage to the 80s, this arcade-pub takes it back to the glory days. Located next to Kilo Lounge, the pub is hard not to miss. Just look for the bright neon side that spells out the word “arcade”.
Step inside a pink neon-lit vortex where you can take a quick selfie as you transport yourselves to another realm. It doesn’t stop there. A cassette tape wall, a pixelated mural of Bruce Lee, montages of your favourite video game characters and even Pac-Man is there to satisfy your Instagram feed.
Of course, the highlights are the old school arcade games (the only time we don’t mind 480p!). Get competitive with a game of Space Invaders, Puzzle Bobble, Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter.
What’s a pub without a selection of tipples? Nineteen80 aces the cocktail game bringing to you classics like vodka ribena, long island iced tea (named Ice-T Hustler Remix), blue lagoon (called Super Disco Blend), along with signature cocktails like donna summer and club tropicana. Sip on these cocktails and move to the rhythm of urban tunes from the 80s to the 00s spun by resident DJs Ollie’Des and YA5TH. Sweet dreams are made of this, indeed.
Albeit small in size, Nineteen80 has enough to satisfy our cravings for a quick trip to the 80s. Gather your friends, play a round of Space Invader, sip on some cocktails and indulge in the nostalgia.
