Plus, we tell you how to score bonus credits for your rides…
This year’s Prudential Marina Bay Carnival is back and we are stoked to hop on this journey of ‘Make Loving Memories’. Taking up the space of four football fields, you can be sure that there’s no lack of entertainment with all the rides and games. Read on if you want us to spoil some of the highlights for you…
Get your daily dose of adrenaline
The Wave Swinger – specially flown in from Italy – takes centre stage with a gorgeous setup complete with murals depicting global attractions, including the Eiffel Tower and Gardens By The Bay. The exterior reminds us of a carousel but feels decidedly less calm once it starts swinging in circles. For a version of this ride with more height thrown into the mix, join the line for the Star Flyer.
Spot the pirate ship by the side? The Viking’s got nothing on Das Fun Schiff. Literally ‘the fun ship’, this ride is perfect for anyone who equates speed and stomach-dropping height with the idea of ‘fun’ – enough said.
For the most adventurous of carnival goers, we recommend a ride on the Mach 5 or the FreakOut. Mach 5 is an all-out speed assault that spins you unpredictably while shooting you up skyward. On the other hand, FreakOut whirls you around in crazy directions like a giant claw machine on steroids.
And heads up, there’s also an epic new ride called the Remix Extreme that’s guaranteed to make your head spin – go on, we dare you to try it.
Want big thrills? These will beat out all the other rides, hands down. Try them and tell us which was the worst (or best) for you!
Food and family fun
It’s not all stomach-lurching and head-spinning rides though. There are plenty of child-friendly options including the Gallopers, a pretty carousel ride we’d totally still hop on as an adult; as well as games like fish-catching or basketball tossing.
To keep your energy up, bag a bucket (yes, a bucket) of chicken wings, dig into some pizza and hydrate with juices or Thai milk tea. Plus, check out Carnival Bites by Sofnade with special sauces like mala and sour cream to go with your choice of grub – think potato fries, prawn paste chicken and more.
On Wednesdays we wear pink
Take a leaf out of Mean Girls and be rewarded for it. Come dressed in your best pink outfit and share your OOTD to claim 10 Bonus Credits. Simply present your social media snap at the Rewards Station to redeem your points (happening every Wednesday till 20 Feb, 4pm to 11pm). Regina George would approve.
Perks!
From now till 22 February, there will be a lucky ang bao draw for the first 100 purchases per week. This sure-win mechanic promises prizes ranging from bonus credits to a pair of Scoot tickets. Try your luck and tell us how it went!
Psst: There’s also a 2-for-1 offer on all rides and games (excluding Hook A Bag and Odd Numbers) from now till 10 March!
