10 new restaurants in Singapore
The Japanese-French fusion trend hits Singapore head on this month, along with a (heaven-sent) wallet-friendly Italian bistro, burgers and wings American eatery, a heartland dessert wonderland, and more.
Lewin Terrace
Calling all couples who are looking to tie the knot! This new Japanese-French fusion restaurant, nestled in Fort Canning’s lush greenery, might just be your answer for a secret garden cocktail reception or private wedding party in a dedicated bridal room. Helmed by Mr Daisuke Kawai aka Best Sommelier of the Year at World Gourmet Series Awards of Excellence 2013, and Chef Ryochi Kano, you can expect innovative fusion gastronomy like charcoal-grilled challandais duck with Kyoto vegetable produce and risotto of sea bream with Japanese seaweed puree and arima pepper, which can be paired with international wines (including French and Japanese) and sakes.

Labyrinth
As the new kid on the block along Neil Road (which is shaping up as a chic gourmet haven), Labyrinth invites you to embark on a one-of-a-kind gastronomic adventure with them. You’ll be astounded (and impressed) by a spread of experimental creations, born out of the restaurant’s pursuit to glorify the five tantalising tastes of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. Be prepared to drop all preconceived notions of gastronomy, and splurge, in order to fully experience this labyrinth of decadence.

It’s a no-brainer guessing what this joint serves up – it’s all about sinful good ol’ burgers and wings at this American style eatery, managed by Kitchen Language Group aka the Dean and Deluca folks in Singapore. If you’re a monstrous eater, you’re in for a treat! Besides ordering up one of their towering burgers, like Wagyu beef black burger and Tyson peanut butter burger, or a basket of hot buffalo wings, simply top up $4.90 (for lunch) or $7.90 (for dinner) to get access to the free-flow buffet bar, brimming with assorted appetizers, salads, and desserts.

Fans of Saveur, listen up! The good folks at Saveur are going Italiano with their latest venture – Concetto. Continuing their legacy of offering a taste of high-end western dining without wiping out your lunch money, you can look forward to an extensive menu of reasonably-priced Italian dishes (showcasing earth, land, and sea elements) like buffalo mozzarella, crab risotto, duck ravioli, and more.

Modelled (and named) after rustic Chinese taverns, Ke Zhan serves up a slew of authentic Chinese cuisine and a stunning range of Asian liquor – from Japanese sakes and shochus, to Chinese wines like bai jiu and mou tai. Pair your liquor of choice with hearty Sichuan and Guangdong dishes like beggar’s chicken, pan-fried dumplings, deep fried pork collar, and poached fish in mala broth.
