Hair salons, spa treatments, and mani pedis for kids in Singapore
With party season in full swing (and it’s not just for grown ups), we’ve found some seriously stylish spots for kids and teens to get star treatment for special occasions. From spa treatments for teens and babies (yes you read right) to trauma-free haircuts for kids in Singapore, we’ve got you covered.
Treats and a trim
Popular with expats, Trimmings stylists have plenty of experience with Caucasian hair and offer pampering treats for kids and teens. Spend time bonding over a mani-pedi or treat them to a makeover or princess up-do for a special occasion.
Trimmings, Robertson Walk, 11 Unity Street, #02-17, Singapore 237995, p. 6737 8512. Also at Loewen Gardens.
Just for Juniors
Junior League gets our vote for younger kids, especially ones who are terrified of a trim. They can watch their favourite movie and won’t even notice the scissors snipping away. Funk it up with spray colour (yes, it is wash out) and they’ll leave smiling.
Junior League, Forum Shopping Mall, 583 Orchard Road, Singapore. See website for other locations.
Cool cuts
For the coolest cuts in town (a pink Mohawk perhaps), head to Curly & Spike. The specially designed kids styling stations come complete with X-Box 360s and movies. Bring friends along for their very own fashion photo extravaganza!
Curly & Spike, UE Square, 81 Clemenceau Avenue, #02-14, Singapore, P: 6733 9298
Go glam
Glamour Kiddies promises to cut any mini diva’s hair in style (and yours too). With child-sized chairs, quiet shavers, and movies to watch, it’s a fun experience. Drop them off whilst you shop or stay and enjoy some of your own pampering.
Glamour Kiddies Liang Court, 177 River Valley Rd, #02-14, Singapore, p. 6837 2534
Hey baby!
This is the first baby spa we’ve ever heard of. Tiny tots float around in special tubs with inflatable rings around their necks (it looks odd, but is meant to be good for them). Get their first haircut at the hair salon with cool chairs and DVDs to keep them distracted.
Baby Spa, Plaza Singapura, Orchard Road #03-30, 238839, p. 6238 6003 (and various other locations)
Diva-licious
Mini divas will feel like grown-ups with a mani-pedi at Nails D’vine. It’s a gorgeous space out at Dempsey where kids and teens can sit next to mum and be pampered. Follow it by a spot of lunch at PS Café.
Nail’s D’vine Dempsey Blk 26 Dempsey Road,?#01-03A 249686, p. 6875 0161
5-star treatment
Take them shopping on Orchard Road then relax at swanky Four Seasons, which has its own teen spa menu. Our favourites are the Boys to Men Massage, for sports-related aches and pains, and On Cloud Nine, for head to foot pampering. Free smoothie included.
Four Seasons Hotel, 190 Orchard Boulevard, Singapore 248646, p. 6734 1110
Treats for teens
Trust the Auriga Spa at Capella on Sentosa to offer pampering teen treatments in unbeatable surroundings. We love their Organic Facial, which is great for teenage skins.
Auriga Spa, Capella Singapore, 1 The Knolls, Sentosa Island, Singapore 098297, p. 6377 8888
Blow off steam
At new kid on the block, Blow+Bar at Robertson Quay, mums and daughters can relax side by side as they get their nails done. There’s complimentary wine for the mums and juice for kids. Form an orderly queue! They do kids’ haircuts and princess mani-pedis too.
Blow+Bar, 7 Rodyk Street, Robertson Quay #01-32, Singapore 238215, p. 6238 7338
