Eat your way through some of the best hawker stalls at Golden Mile Food Centre in Singapore.
Much to the despair and dismay of almost every Singaporean, we grieved the loss of Golden Mile Complex in 2023. Set for redevelopment, it’s the end of an era. But, never fear! Golden Mile Tower and Golden Mile Food Centre are still alive and kicking in Singapore. Also known as Beach Road Army Market, this food centre opened in 1975 and houses some great hawker powerhouses. You’ll be spoilt for choice, but we’ve narrowed down the best stalls to try.

The stall often sells out by noon, so get in line because it’s an experience worth queueing for.

Putting a modern spin on the Taiwanese lu rou fan is Braise. Inspired by the lor mee his mother used to make, owner MJ made it his mission to create rice bowls with a thick gravy. While the braised pork rice bowls may not taste the same as the traditional preparation, we say give it a shot. You can even order different cuts of pork like the belly, shank, and cheek.
