Renowned Russian group St Petersburg Ballet Theatre returns to Singapore to perform the quintessential ballet – Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake – after sold-out seasons in 2015 and 2016.
This classic tells the tale of the love between Prince Siegfried and Swan Princess Odette, a woman transformed into a swan by Rothbart, the evil sorcerer. Its first staging was in 1895, and today it remains one of the most tender performances to be experienced.
Prima Ballerina Irina Kolesnikova leads the company of 60 dancers, many of whom were trained in the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet.
