Get in on the excitement and watch the best names in table tennis battle it out! The Seamaster T2 Diamond 2019 Singapore, arriving on our shores from 21 to 24 November at Our Tampines Hub, highlights 32 of the world’s top names competing for a combined prize of US$500,000 and bonus ITTF world ranking points as they fight their way to 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualification.
The unique time-based format takes the best of seven games, giving players 24 minutes to come out victorious in four rounds. No deuce is required and the first person to 11 points wins. But if that doesn’t happen, the game goes into FAST5, which is played to five points.
To allow audiences to get close to the action, the tournament uses 360-degree circular field of play at T2Cavern, as well as features like a video assistant referee. Famous events producer Mark Kishbaugh and award-winning music producers Craig Bauer and Anthony J. Resta are also teaming up for the event.
So who will emerge victorious? The line-up includes top male players like Harimoto Tomokazu from Japan, Lin Yun-Ju from Taiwan, Franziska Patrick from Germany and Singapore’s very own Clarence Chew, alongside female players such as Japan’s Ito Mima and Hirano Miu, Cheng I-Ching from Taiwan and homegrown star Feng Tianwei. Let’s just say, it’s going to be a thrilling tournament!
