Discover Kampong Gelam with the new glamping experience by Malay Heritage Centre. The 2D1N experience includes a never-before opportunity to spend a night under the stars on MHC’s beautiful lawn. Two cosy tents will be set up – one furnished with two queen-sized beds as well as a hammock for a quality sleeping experience, and the other for a night-time cinematic experience with a projector screen, speaker and bean bags. Both tents will be equipped with a portable aircon and fan, fresh linens and quilt for extra comfort, and decorative lights for an extra festive feel!
Over the 2D1N experience, you can look forward to a guided heritage tour of Kampong Gelam precinct, which will take you to the iconic murals of Haji Lane, offer new perspectives from local bakers and tea-makers behind specialty shops, and reveal lesser-known stories of iconic landmarks such as Sultan Mosque. Plus, a specially curated tour of MHC’s galleries, including its upcoming Urang Banjar: Heritage and Culture of the Banjar in Singapore exhibition. There’s also an indulgent Malay dinner of specialities such as nasi kerabu and sambal tempe prepared in an outdoor set-up by personal chef and culinary instructor Ruqxana Vasanwala.
Registration for Kampong G(e)lamping @ MHC will open from 23 October 2020, 12 noon, on a first-come-first-served basis, on MHC’s Facebook and Instagram. There will be nine slots, one per day, available for sign-ups – each slot is priced at $450, and can accommodate up to five individuals, which can include adults and children (two years and above).
