As the Mid-Autumn Festival fast approaches, Feng Shui Inn will be offering the Mid-Autumn Star, a delicate mooncake featuring American ginseng blended with custard and white lotus paste, finished off with chocolate pearls for textural contrast.
Handcrafted by the restaurant’s Hong Kong-born Executive Chef Li Kwok Kwong, each mooncake contains more than five grams of premium quality American ginseng. Steamed, sliced and then ground into a fine powder, the nourishing ginseng is then mixed into luscious white lotus paste and custard, producing a rich fragrant flavour, with milk chocolate pearls offering that bit of crunch in each bite.
Commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine as remedy for stress and exhaustion, American ginseng is long looked upon as a helpful herb to boost immune systems and vitality.
Baked in a deliciously crisp and buttery crust made of premium Australian butter with custard, milk powder and fresh eggs, instead of the traditional moon cake skin, Feng Shui Inn’s Mid-Autumn Star will be a delightful crowd-pleaser among family and friends, perfect for pairing with hot Chinese tea.
