Beautifully Made is an art exhibition about the personal identity of the artist, and the individual expressions that emerge from the journey towards that identity.
This exhibition is organised by Bless Asia Singapore in collaboration with Sower Essentials and made possible through the generous sponsorship of Far East Organization. In this invitational exhibition, 117 paintings created by 52 artists from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Canada, will be available for sale.
Making art is a form of personal expression, and also a path of personal destination. Finding a calling, a destination, one begins a process of identification with one’s original design and purpose.
Artists often grapple with who they are and why they work and create in such ways. The question ‘How were you made?’ allows one to look within oneself, and above one’s circumstances.
By exhibiting together, the 52 artists move beyond introspection to look at the possibilities enabled by a greater, all-encompassing purpose. In doing so, a process begins – of restoration of the artist’s identity and the individual’s creative expression. And a response to an ancient verse that says “I am fearfully and wonderfully made”.
