Multi-concept F&B destination The Garage takes inspiration from the bountiful nature of Singapore and the heritage inherent in its locale for its National Day offerings. Located in a conserved 1920s Art Deco building within the Botanic Gardens – Singapore’s only UNESCO Heritage site – are The Garage’s two concepts, Botanico and Bee’s Knees, offering unique menus and old-school activities for the special occasion.
The restaurant and bar sports a reinvigorated interior, filled with lush greenery from its outdoor terrace to the indoor space. Here, chef Su presents a bistronomy-style menu rooted in European techniques inflected with Asian flavours. This year, Botanico offers exclusive a-la-carte dishes from 1 to 9 August. The menu is an allusion to the very place that The Garage is located, weaving in familiar flavours and ingredients that had found a place in Singapore’s early modern history as economic crops and are now fulfilling an expository role in the Gardens such as coconut, assam, and ginger.
