Take home a masterpiece without breaking the bank; immerse yourself in over 40 new and returning art galleries featuring local and international artists
Think art is an expensive, exclusive hobby? Think again! The Affordable Art Fair is back in town for its third year running at the F1 Pit Building, from the 22nd to the 24th of April. And if you haven’t already figured from the name (or if you’re an arts amateur, but that’s A-okay), it’s immediately apparent that this collective aims to spread the message that collecting art isn’t the intimidating and expensive pursuit it’s reputed to be.
The three-day Spring edition of this fair presents a more “intimately-curated” programme, featuring over 40 new and returning galleries as well as over 300 local and international artists. In addition to showcasing art, the Art Education Programme will offer interactive workshops and art tours for the adults, while the Children’s Art Studio, hosted by Little Artists Art Studio, will provide free, fun-filled activities for the little ones. That means more time for you parents to lose yourself in the plethora of artworks on display, and take your time deciding which masterpiece to bag home. The event kicks off with the AAFter Glow Evening on Friday night, that will feature stunning live art performances as well as food and drink from Bistro 1855.
But don’t think it’s just about painting a pretty picture! This year’s, the Let Art Speak charity wall will feature various mediums of artworks priced at $500, with 50% of the proceeds going towards the Woodbridge Hospital Charity fund. Now isn’t that art with a lot of heart?
