Sample craft beers and ciders, rock out to live music, and belly laugh at top comedians at the eighth edition of this weekend-long celebration of all things beer!
Crazy for pints of the golden good stuff? Well whaddya’ know, you’re in the right city. With open arms, we welcome the return of Beerfest Asia for its eighth edition, and word on the street is it’s going to be bigger, better, and more beer-y than ever. Taking place from the 16 – 19 June, we say it’s time to don those beer goggles, round up the troops, and get yourself down to Marina Promenade for this epic celebratory festival that shines a light on one of our favourite drinks. Whether you’re a fan of craft beers and microbreweries, or the very best of commercial brews, you’ll find the best of the booziest right here in Singapore.
The beer-y bit
Showcasing over 400 varieties of commercial and craft beers (and cider, boom!), even the aficionados among us will find a new brew among this lot. In particular we’ll be on the lookout for a pint of Desperados, the world’s first tequila flavoured beer, from Asia Pacific Breweries and Archipelago’s latest concoction – Singapore Blonde Ale. Sounds delish! With exhibitors offering $6 or $8 platters of 6x50ml tasting samples, we’re going to try our very best to swig the lot. Once your beer stomach is full, head on over to the spirits lounge for a sip of the strong stuff.
Best of the rest
Once you’ve filled up on cold ones, there’s a load of other stuff to keep you entertained throughout the day and night. Throw some shapes and sing along with some of Singapore’s best tribute acts including Killer Queen, AbbaFab, Slippery When Wet (Bon Jovi tribute), Major Tom (David Bowie tribute) and Greg Andrew (Australia’s Elton John). Who are we kidding; after a skinful of beer, we’ll likely think these guys are in fact the real deal! If comedy is your thing, make a beeline for the comedy lounge and prepare for belly laughs galore, courtesy of the region’s hottest comedians. Watch this space as more DJs and local bands are set to be unveiled imminently…
How do I get in?
Early birds can pick up general admission tickets for a mere $20* and VIP tickets for $117 here, available ’til 30 April. Sounds steep, but VIP access bags you eight hours of free flow beer and soft drinks (can you say hangover?), access to VIP bars and seating areas, and complimentary access to the comedy lounge (plus coveted Beerfest Asia tee, naturally). Cheers!
*General admission ticket includes one complimentary welcome beer. Ticket handling charges apply.
