Make the most of Social Hour at Marina Bay Sands' celebrity chef bars: Adrift, Bread Street Kitchen, CUT, db Bistro & Oyster Bar, Flight, Long Chim, Osteria Mozza, Pizzeria Mozza, Spago and The Bar at Waku Ghin
Tuesdays kinda suck; it’s like Monday 2.0 and a reminder that you’re nowhere near the weekend. So let Social Hour at Marina Bay Sands be the silver lining to your Tuesday! Signature cocktails at Celebrity Chef bars and more will be half-off from 6pm to 9pm every Tuesday. Here’s a round-up of six must-try cocktails for your boozing pleasure.
Samurai Mule – The Bar at Waku Ghin by Tetsuya Wakuda
The Bar at Waku Ghin reinvents the immensely popular Moscow Mule by artfully blending the tastes of Japanese sake and ginger. The resultant brew is a satisfying pick-me-up that’ll go down wonderfully in this hot and hazy weather.
The Bar at Waku Ghin, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Atrium 2, L2-01. p. 6688 8507. Open daily from 5.30pm till late.
Penicillin – Adrift by David Myers
Looking for the perfect medicine to stave away the mid-week blues? Adrift’s Penicillin might be just what the doctor ordered. The cocktail starts strong with a base of blended scotch freshened up with lemon, ginger and honey. A layer of Islay scotch is then delicately floated on top of the drink to give it a nice, smoky nose.
Adrift, Marina Bay Sands, Hotel Lobby Tower 2, p. 6688 5657. Open daily 12pm-2am.
555 – Long Chim by David Thompson
Let Long Chim bring the tastes of Bangkok to your table with its Thai-inspired 555. Cocci Americano, Fords Dry Gin and the infusion of coriander, lemon and cucumber work together to create a bright, spicy concoction that will leave you longing for more.
Long Chim, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Atrium 2, L2-02, p. 6688 7299. Open Sun-Thu 5.30pm-12am, Fri-Sat 5pm-2am.
French “57” – Flight Bar & Lounge by Justin Quek
The French “57” at Flight Bar & Lounge takes the French “75” cocktail and flips it around – not just by name. Substituting simple syrup for acacia honey and adding the unconventional Yuzu Umeshu gives an oriental twist to an old classic.
Flight Bar & Lounge, Marina Bay Sands, Sands Skypark, Tower 1, Level 57, p. 6688 9977. Open Sun-Thu 6pm-2am, Fri-Sat 6pm-3am.
Singapore Sling 1913 – Osteria Mozza by Mario Batali
The Singapore Sling is the Little Red Dot’s claim to fame in the world of cocktails. Osteria Mozza takes the drink back to its roots with its Singapore Sling 1913 that, unlike most of its contemporaries, omits pineapple juice completely for a more refreshing and less sweet cocktail. The bar’s faithful recreation of the storied original also calls on dry gin, cherry brandy, Benedictine DOM, lime and soda.
Osteria Mozza, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Galleria Level, B1-42-46, p. 6688 8522. Open daily 5pm-11pm.
Spago by Wolfgang Puck – Love You Long Time
Spago’s signature Love You Long Time cocktail will enchant you with its sweet and spicy notes. The brilliantly coloured drink owes it hue to the addition of tangerine, brightened by spicy notes from Thai Basil. The premium Ketel One Vodka and sparkling Sake both make sure that this summer drink goes down nice and smooth!
Spago, Marina Bay Sands, Sands SkyPark, Tower 2, Level 57, p. 6688 9955. Open daily 12pm till late.
