Chef Ivan Brehm, the brains behind Michelin-starred Nouri and creative interdisciplinary space Appetite, is announcing a series of Crossroads experiences on 9 and 10 December in collaboration with Khir Johari, author of award-winning book, The Food of Singapore Malays.
Named Crossroads: Archipelago, the experience includes a one-off intimate Salon Session at Appetite on Friday, 9 December, 5pm.
The experience is a meeting of two distinct yet similar minds who have devoted a good part of their lives trying to understand and demonstrate how cultural ideas are shared and developed across oceans of time and space. While Chef Ivan expressed this in the form of Crossroads Thinking and its many manifestations, Khir created a 624-page opus detailing the evolution of Singapore’s Malay cuisine.
After the talk, guests attending will be treated to finger food and a drink until 8.00PM over casual conversation, where guests will get the chance to get up close and personal with the two thinkers.
