Managing Director of Asian Surf Co & Secretary General of PSOI

Bali has always been my home and a big part of everything. Growing up surfing here created all the pathways for who I am.
Tell us your story – how did you get here?
I was born and raised in Bali in Legian, and then moved to Seminyak… Bali has always been my home and a big part of everything. Growing up surfing here created all the pathways for who I am. My family is also a big part of who I am: my dad from Java taught me to be humble, and my mom from Austria taught me to explore.
Today, I am the Managing Director of Asian Surf Co, the Co-Founder of Earth Island, and the Secretary General of Persatuan Selancar Ombak Indonesia (PSOI).
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Creating a pathway for surfing here in Indonesia with PSOI and my company (ASC). Now, we see Indonesian surfers doing great things, such as representing our country at the Olympics and also on the world tour level!
What impact have you made in Bali?
My biggest impact is to influence more locals to surf and by doing this, we all will care more about the trash that’s going to the ocean where we all surf.
What does the future look like for you?
The future for me will be working on growing the potential of surfing in my country. Whether it’s the development or the business side of surfing, exploring the potential will be the focus.
What do you love most about Bali?
The people, the smiles, the waves and the lifestyle.
If you could excel at any other sport, what would it be and why?
Nothing! Surfing for me is the one… I would not change it for anything.
Who is your Local Legend and why?
Too many to mention… If we are local, we’re all legends!
