Founder of Fields of Yarrow skincare

I love the fact that we have built up a community here that loves our clean formulas that really work, and in turn, help people rebuild their confidence.
Tell us your story – how did you get here?
I first studied as a Laboratory Technician, but decided to quit my studies to follow another path: modelling. I travelled the world for 10 years, and along the way I discovered a true passion for contemporary art. This led me to become an art curator for a gallery in Paris, which gave me the chance to work with artists from Paris, London, NYC and Miami.
I lived this dream for a few years and had some of the most amazing years of my life. I travelled the world again, and became truly inspired by all the art and artists around me. For personal reasons, I then moved to Singapore in 2014 and brought with me my knowledge in contemporary art to the Asian market. After three years, I got a calling for change.
I decided to quit everything and move to Bali, where I was supposed to only stay for three months before moving to London. But then I met Alexis – the father of my son today – and I never left. After a few months on the island, I felt like something was missing in terms of skincare and bodycare. Alas, a true clean beauty brand is what I wanted to bring to the people here. And this is how my Laboratory studies came in handy.
Fields of Yarrow was finally born. Today, I have so much passion for this brand, and I feel I have really found my true path.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Eyden, my son, who was born in 2020. He is the most beautiful little boy.
What impact have you made in Bali?
I would say, creating a genuine skincare brand that our customers can trust. I love the fact that we have built up a community here that loves our clean formulas that really work, and in turn, help people rebuild their confidence.
What does 2022 look like for you?
So far, we are loving this year. Since the start of the pandemic we have been able to sustain our business purely because of the community we’ve built, and we are so grateful for each and every person that supported us by purchasing our products. We are soon opening a second store and studio in Uluwatu, and we are also going to expand the brand to Singapore, Tokyo and Kyoto. It feels like a lot of good things are happening for us this year, and we are so excited.
What do you love most about Bali?
Just island life in general. Alexis, Eyden and myself are based in Uluwatu so we have a pretty laid-back lifestyle. We love surfing, and we love the quietness of Uluwatu. We love the beaches down here too, and the tide pools in the late afternoon – it’s our favourite thing to do for just the three of us. And we also love the buzzing life of Canggu and Berawa sometimes…
But most of all, we love the culture, the food and all the people that make Bali so special.
What’s the one daily ritual you can’t live without?
My morning skincare routine for sure!
Who is your Local Legend and why?
That’s a hard one, but I would say my husband Alexis for making our island home a better place.
