Showing my kids the ropes of life, sharing my passion and going surfing with them is the coolest thing ever.
Tell us your story – how did you get here?
It’s been a long journey with plenty of ups and downs, but I have always believed in what I’m good at since day one, and that’s surfing. When I was a kid, I never ever expected that this lifestyle would turn out to be one of the coolest things ever, and I had no idea I could actually make a living from it. Surfing has made me who I am today.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I think being a father and trying to be a good parent is my biggest accomplishment. Showing my kids the ropes of life, sharing my passion and going surfing with them is the coolest thing ever.
What impact have you made in Bali?
I’d say that I’ve tried to open the doors for Indonesian surfers. Bali is one of the most well-known surfing destinations in the world, so it’s the best place for it.
Surfing also brings tourism to Bali and helps boost the economy on the island. Bali is one of the biggest melting pots in the world – you can meet all sorts of people from all different countries and cultures here, and surfing has definitely helped that.
What do you love most about Bali?
The people and the food, and also the awesome waves we have all around the island. And of course, you can’t forget the Balinese and Indonesian cultures.
Who is your Local Legend and why?
It’s too hard for me to choose just one Local Legend here. There are so many Balinese Legends that have helped make what Bali is today…
