A symbiotic collective of unique artists

Honestly, the only reason why we’re here and why we started is because we wanted to party to the music we love. It’s as simple as that.
Tell us your story – how did you get here?
PNNY got started in Dubwill’s little studio after hours of chilling, listening to music, practising our DJing and talking sh*t. We always talked about how we felt like we weren’t hearing what we wanted on the island, and didn’t have the freedom to play the music that we wanted to play. We’ve been on this island most of our lives and were just sick of the music scene here. We wanted to do something to change it, so we decided to start our own little collective with all the DJs and party animals that have the same taste in music as us.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Doing our first Boiler Room was pretty cool – Boiler Room has had such a big impact on PNNY’s growth, and in 2018 when they contacted us to do a party with them, that was a pretty special moment. Also, our first tour to Europe playing at the festivals and in clubs outside of Bali and Indonesia was a big point checked off of our to-do list.
What impact have you made in Bali?
Hmm this is a tough one – we think Bali impacted us so much more than we impacted Bali. But I guess we like to think that musically we’re slightly different to what the island had to offer at the time when we started the collective.
What does 2022 look like for you?
It’s looking a lot better than the last two years, that’s for sure! We’re brewing up a couple of things at the moment with the boys, and one of the biggest things is creating our own EP! We’re aiming to have it dropped by the end of 2022. Also, we’re pretty excited for our European tour coming up in July and August!
What do you love most about Bali?
Most of us are born and bred in Bali, so it’s home! The fact that it’s such a multicultural place, but also with such a strong identity of its own, is one of the best things about Bali.
What's the coolest performance you’ve ever seen and why?
Oufft this is a hard one. But off the top of our head, we’d probably say Kamasi Washington at Potato Head. Just having an artist on that level in Bali was something else!
Who is your Local Legend and why?
It has to be Mamsa, the owner and creator of Jenja! Why? Because there wouldn’t be PNNY if it wasn’t for him! We were 17 years-old and super annoying running around the club, but he was the only one who took us seriously.
