Musician, Drummer and Activist

Born I Gede Ari Astina, Jerinx (AKA Jrx) has made his mark in the music industry along with his band, Superman Is Dead. After he graduated from high school in 1995, he began his music career by joining the Bali-based punk rock band with his bandmates Eka Rock and Boby Kool. In just two years’ time, they released their first album, which quickly sky-rocketed their name nationwide.
But despite his stardom in the world of music, Jerinx has made the biggest mark as an activist who has used his influence to spread awareness on social issues, from overdevelopment and land reclamation, to copyright infringement and even Covid-19 controversy. He first shot to activism fame when he publicly voiced his concerns on the reclamation of Benoa Bay and the negative impact it would bring to nature and local commmunities. Although his activism has landed him in hot water, he always perseveres, and continues to create music and support the causes he believes in.
