Spice up your breakfast routine with a Singapore-themed, all-you-can-eat buffet at Baba Chews
Having an indulgent brunch may do no favours to our waistlines, but hey, it’s really the only way to start the weekend right. We’re all for a full English breakfast or a solid Mexican quesadilla, but there’s nothing like a good ol’ cup of kopi and a steaming plate of nasi lemak!

If you love Singapore street food like we do, you’ll want to make Baba Chews Bar and Eatery your next favourite brunch spot. Located in the former Joo Chiat Police Station, this neighbourhood café has pretty, refurbished interiors comprising elements of Peranakan and colonial details. Its all-you-can-eat, a la carte weekend brunch menu features mouthwatering local dishes alongside brunch essentials (such as eggs Benedict) that’ll have you hopping out of bed – trust us, you won’t be hitting the snooze button once you hear what they’ve got.

The key feature of the brunch is the selection of dishes in the free-flow, a la carte brunch clipboard menu. Tuck into a wholly satisfying spread of beef rendang bun, Nonya laksa, roast duck popiah, tau pok panggang (grilled beancurd stuffed with bean sprouts, cucumber and shrimp paste sauce), nasi lemak or seafood congee, all cooked a la minute. It’s all about variety at Baba Chews, so be prepared to fill your bellies with other yummy international offerings such as the Hong Kong-style French toast, fried with condensed milk and served with butter and chicken floss. Diet, be gone!

Don’t forget to make space for more appetisers, pastries and desserts listed from the Brunch Pantry, that’s also part of the buffet. Shake things up with interesting fusion finger-food such as otah sushi, roti otah and sardine sandwiches, or customise your own rojak and kueh pie tee. Thirsty? Sip on quality brews by Common Man Coffee Roasters and TWG, or treat yourselves with a free flow of prosecco at an add-on price of $48++ per person.
The weekend brunch is available at $38++ per person, on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (12pm to 3.30pm). For more information, check out their Facebook page.
