The educational scientific institution is chockfull of fascinating exhibitions and events that covers all sorts of topics and are fun for both the young’uns and grown-ups!
For the techie
If you count The Terminator and Wall-E as some of your favourite films, you’ll probably be enthralled by this National Geographic movie, Robots. Playing on Southeast Asia’s largest seamless dome screen with surround sound effects, this entertaining documentary takes you behind the scenes of robotic design and engineering.

Budding tech whizzes can visit Dino Robot Factory’s eight interactive zones and pick up basic engineering concepts behind the making of robot dinosaurs. Specially curated for those under 12 years old (but fret not, adults can join in on the fun too), kids get to witness a T-Rex “come to life” with the help of a special scope, make their very own moving dino puppet, and more.
Dino Robot Factory, Hall 2, Annex, Science Centre Singapore, 20 May-27 August, 10am-6pm. Tickets at $7 for children, $5 for adults.
For the nature lover
Not a fan of creepy crawlies? You might want to make an exception here at the Science Centre. As Singapore’s first indoor butterfly sanctuary, Butterflies Up-Close houses hundreds of these colourful winged critters. The carefully regulated humidity and temperature enclosure ensures that the butterflies thrive, and lets you have a chance to come face-to-face with 16 different species from Singapore and around the region.
Butterflies Up-Close, Hall D Science Centre Singapore. Tickets at $10 each for adults and children.
For the budding scientists

Besides frolicking in the snow and sliding down a snow slope, you’ll get to meet some special guests, the Chipsleys, a family of seals from the Arctic. Listen to their travel tales during the storytelling sessions, and take a family snapshot with the adorable seal mascots after.
