Previously known as GrabTaxi, Grab has enhanced its app to cater to a wider range of consumers. With over 100,000 drivers across its brand-new platforms such as JustGrab, GrabTaxi and GrabHitch, it’s almost effortless to book a ride. The extension in its line of services – offering drivers in private cars, on top of their previous standard cabs, provides a more personalised and sleek mode of transport for commuters. It’s newest feature, GrabFamily, allows safe travelling for children aged four to seven years old, providing seat boosters to better adjust seat belts according to the height of your young ones. This app also shows you the estimated rates beforehand to avoid getting blindsided by inflated fares! And for all you thrifties, choose GrabShare for a significant reduction in costs when you share your trip with another rider. Expect a little detour and a tad longer journey, though!

ComfortDelGro’s phone booking service – by the way, the company is the largest taxi operator in Singapore – is typically reliable, even during rush hour or rainy days, though little hiccups (like failed bookings) are to be expected. It’s easy to use: you can bookmark up to 20 pick-up addresses and keep an eye on your driver’s route with a handy location-tracking function.

Booking cabs through this app will save you the hassle of having to phone a taxi company.
