Thanks for making #smwhoneynights a success
Q: What happens when you put 200 people in a restaurant with 5 stellar panelists during social media week?
A: A lot of live tweeting happens. (Not pictured: More alcohol consumed.)
Last night we hosted #smwhoneynights at the fabulous Fern & Kiwi – thank you for making it such a success!
On our panel we had Kaitie from Vamastyle & Ted from Korla (representing our small business owners, whoop whoop!), Alexis Cheong from DDB, Simon Kemp, MD of We Are Social, and Joe Barratt, MD of Mutant Communications. In other words, we had some real good people to grill!
Among the many insightful (and politically incorrect) things said… we managed a few important takeaways:
1. People connect with people, not with brands.
2. Social media is not a website. Take the time to let it grow, get to know your followers, and learn about them.
3. When thinking about what to post, think about what your reader wants to hear.

Of course before Honey Nights began, our team was hard at work prepping:
Our cheeky Relationship Manager, Tina, and our Honey Nights signage
Did our Founder & Managing Editor, Chris, bring paperwork to the party?!
Our Senior Editor, Mel, is all thumbs getting our namecards prepped.
Guess who got the party started? Yes, it’s Ted!
Ted from Korla knows where it’s at.
We loved meeting all of you:
Thank you for making #smwhoneynights such a riot! We can’t wait for the next one, but until then, tell us what you want the next Honey Nights topic to be on. We’re listening!
