When the going gets tough; the tough get a facial. Here’s why you should check out this Shenton Way spa
We all have those days where taking a vacation is a real priority. But if a retreat from work is nowhere in sight, Passage New York’s spa and facial treatments will give you the TLC you so desperately need – and that’s what I did on a particularly crazy week. The best part? It’s located right in the heart of Singapore’s CBD.
The 8,000 sq.ft, two-storey luxury spa has everything you need for a complete detox from work. You can treat yourself to a brand new outfit at their specially curated fashion boutique on the first floor before popping into one of their 23 rooms for a well-deserved treatment. More is definitely more at Passage New York, as their facial menu includes a top-of-the-line selection of personalised treatments, such as the Caviar Anti-Aging Face Spa and Placenta Facial Treatment. I chose to unwind with a rich, rejuvenating facial that would hopefully, undo all those late nights caused by the lack of sleep – bring on the damage control.
I’ve got 99 problems…
After a detailed consultation, I was quickly ushered into a cosy room complete with a heated bed. The therapist gave me a brief rundown of my seven-step treatment, featuring a series of anti-aging and hydrating products by skincare brand, Verthys.
The beauty blowout kicked off with the usual skin prep – a simple cleansing, toning and exfoliation process that was surprisingly refreshing. So far, so good. This was followed by a moisturising Supple Enliven Stem Cell Essence, pumped with apple stem cells, grape seed extract and other vitamins to repair cell damage caused by sun exposure. The serum was gently massaged into my skin, leaving it feeling renewed and super hydrated. A soothing Supple Enliven Luminous Repair Mask was next and after a brutal week, I was up for anything that promised to banish fine lines and wrinkles. In fact, I’ll take the full works!
To ensure a deeper penetration of the product, the Spark of Youth Machine was used to boost collagen production through radio waves. To top it off, the Supple Enliven Firming Mask (an earthy, algae extract paste) added another calming layer to my skin. And that’s not all – the therapist then powered through with an invigorating neck and shoulder massage before ending with a final application of sunscreen.
…but dull skin ain’t one
The Spark of Youth Machine claims to produce instant lifting results and while my cheeks seemed plumper after the treatment, the effect was temporary. If you want a real treat yo’self sesh however, Passage New York delivers. I was happy with how my skin looked brighter and more well-rested with the appearance of my dark eye circles reduced. The facial gave me softer, smoother and thoroughly cleansed skin that felt totally moisturised for days. Got an extra hour or two to spare during lunch or after work? Making time for a long-overdue treat at Passage New York will totally worth it.
