News you can digest in 5
This week’s news in a nutshell:
- Prince George – the super-cute offspring of the Duke and Duchess of Cambrige (aka William and Kate) – is on his first official tour in New Zealand! See him catch up with his too-young-to-be-starstruck subjects at the ultimate playdate.
- If you want to look 15 pounds lighter in your selfies, there’s a new app called SkinneePix that lets you shave pounds with a touch of a button. Feminists have declared the app distasteful ‘cause it’s promoting the unrealistic skinny ideal – no comment from us (hey we will do anything to feel good!).
- Pirate Bay and Kickasstorrents might be illegal by the end of the year, which would make watching Game of Thrones a lot harder. There’s still time to act though; submit your feedback at the public consultation.
- Julia Louis-Dreyfus (of Seinfeld and Veep fame) will go down in history as the First Lady of Comedy that made the American Constitution sexy on the cover of the Rolling Stone mag. Alas, John Hancock did NOT sign the Constitution – we hope that tattoo’s a temp.
- It’s not like we don’t have enough to be jealous of the French already – they had to go and make it illegal to work after 6pm. Time to move over, folks.
- After a couple of incidents that involve deliberate false reporting, Singapore voyeurism site STOMP is not only facing public backlash – almost 22, 000 people have signed a petition in a bid to close down the site. Amen to that.
