Kylie reveals her new highlighters
Hate her or love her, you can’t deny this: Kylie Jenner‘s a makeup mogul. The sexy social media star is set to conquer yet another sphere in the beauty world: highlighters. Taking to Snapchat, the 19-year-old reality star revealed six new shades of her new Kylighters. There’s practically one for every skintone – with three icy to rose gold shades for paler girls, and bronze to caramel ones for midtone to deep toned girls – and they look incredibly pigmented. As with all Kylie launches, these are already blowing up on Instagram, so be sure to hustle when nabbing these babies on the launch date (28 February).
Benefit Cosmetics’s spring launch features an upgrade on a cult bronzer
Benefit’s OG bronzer is seeing two upgrades this Spring. The Benefit Hoola, worshipped for its pure matte texture and the healthy-looking “tan” it emulates, is loved by beauty junkies and is now accessible to paler girls. While original editions boast a deeper caramel hue, the Hoola Lite works better for fairer skin. Also new in the launch is the Hoola Quickie Contour: a cream-to-powder contour stick so you can sculpt your features on the go.
Benefit Cosmetics, Stores at Westgate and Ngee Ann City. Also available at Sephora stores islandwide.
Chanel to release a new bag
When it comes to designer bags, few say “you’ve made it” like a Chanel. Up next on our lust list of coveted bags is the Gabrielle. Though created last October for the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, the bag is slated for an official launch in April 2017. Here are the deets: The Gabrielle is fitted on a rigid thermoformed base, and boasts a light, and supple body, with an adjustable strap (interlaced with a chain) that allows it to be worn in three different ways. Part of a larger initiative to celebrate Coco Chanel this year, the bag’s launch will be followed by a perfume release in autumn.

Gucci’s Fall 2017 show: A fashion spectacle
‘More is more’ seemed like the most apt description for Gucci‘s recent fall show. Named “The Alchemist’s Collection”, it featured prints in all its glory – think large, vibrant flowers, space motifs, tartan – clashed with each other and combined everything with anything: sparkly tights, PVC pants, oversized jackets, graphic tees and even bejewelled fanny packs. Also the focal point of the show? Creative director Alessandro Michele’s penchant for rule-breaking – besides the all-gender show, models looked sexually ambiguous, and getups featured a mish-mash of cultural references and time periods.

The world’s first ever colour-changing hair dye
Brace yourselves if your locks are constantly coloured. If you’ve ever dreamt of having magical, colour-changing hair, this is it. Scientist and founder of The Unseen Lauren Bowker debuted the magic at London Fashion Week in collaboration with Storm Models. Her most recent creation, FIRE, is a chemical concoction that reveals a variety of colours of unseen colours. How it works? The carbon-based molecules at the core of the hair dye responds to temperature fluctuations. Above a certain temperature change, the reaction creates a molecule with a different absorption of light, to produce a different colour.
Katy Perry dropped a surprise mermaid-inspired makeup line
You’re going to want in on this, Katy Cats. At the 59th Grammy’s, pop star Katy Perry announced her new limited edition mermaid-inspired makeup by Covergirl. Right before she took to the red carpet, the artist tweeted this to her followers:
Grammy LEWK w/ my NEW @COVERGIRL Katy Kat Pearl Collection! @Walgreens #flashsale happening NOW: https://t.co/5BnE2i5PNR #KATYxCOVERGIRL pic.twitter.com/IQXHAATrzv
— KATY PERRY (@katyperry) February 13, 2017
This is great news for anyone who wants to replicate her Grammy look (with that gorgeous, glowing skin and pearlescent eyes, who wouldn’t?). Covergirl confirmed the collaboration on Instagram:
The Katy Kat Pearl collection features four lipsticks ranging from apricot to blue, two eyeliners in white and green and our top fave: cream eyeshadow pots in rose and gold, which also double up as shimmery highlighters. Shop now at Covergirl online.
Christian Louboutin’s Spring/Summer 2017 Men’s collection
Christian Louboutin’s new men’s collection brings together the best of both worlds: the age-old traditions of Italian leather shoemaking and innovative design techniques. Pictured above is the red carpet favourite shoe Top Daviol. It combines a classic silhouette and a beautiful hand-painted touch that adds depth and shine – a finish unachievable with only natural leathers. The collection is now available at Christian Louboutin’s Scott Square and Marina Bay Sands outlets.
BECCA Cosmetics launches a holographic highlighter
Hands up if you joined the hype for BECCA Cosmetics X Jaclyn Hill’s Champagne Pop highlighter. The limited edition Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Prismatic Amethyst is expected to become our new obsession. Duo-chrome pigments refract and reflect light so you’ll be glowing from all angles, while its lavender colour switches shades in the light. It’ll be available at Sephora online and BECCA Cosmetics from 22 February, or in stores by March 2017.

Frank’s new Glow Mask
We’ve got nothing but love for beauty brand Frank Body’s cult coffee scrubs, so it’s no surprise that we’re excited for the Aussie brand’s launch of its new Glow Mask. The hydrating face mask promises to plump skin and boost radiance, thanks to its main ingredients of Goji berries, shea butter and of course, coffee. All you have to do is smear it on your face, leave it on for five minutes while you make your morning brew and read the paper, then wash it off to reveal bouncy, soft skin. Be the first to get your hands on one at Frank online.
