Hi there
I represent a collective of Singapore NGOs working with refugees (find us at @worldrefugeedaysg on Instagram). We have an awareness event coming up in June (World Refugee Day month), we would be really honoured if your publication could help publicise/feature the event. Here are the details:
World Refugee Day 2024:
Illustrating refugee stories and Singaporeans in this space.
Art Exhibition & Coffee
Date: 17th-30th June, 10am-5pm
Venue: Level 1 Atrium, One Holland
Join us for an Art exhibition that is a collaborative effort between refugee and Singaporean artists. Our art exhibition features illustrated stories from refugees themselves, sharing their journeys, hopes, and dreams, and how organizations in Singapore have helped them on their way.
View the art while enjoying a cup of coffee by Mad Roaster – a social enterprise that supports the livelihoods of refugee artists with every cup. Grab a cup from its coffee cart serving up freshly-brewed coffees for the duration of the art exhibition (save for 20 June 2024), or participate in the #WRDsg social media challenge to redeem a free cup of coffee! T&Cs apply.
Weekend Market & Interactive Activities in support of refugee causes
Join us for a weekend of solidarity, compassion, and hope!
Date: 22-23 June 2024, 10am-6pm
Venue: Level 1 Atrium, One Holland Village Mall
Explore booths from organizations working with refugees, selling unique products made by or in support of refugees. From all-natural balms & soy-wax candles, to tote bags & apparel, there’s something for everyone. Proceeds go towards supporting refugee programs and initiatives.
There will also be interactive booths such as art workshops conducted virtually by refugees, a badminton skills challenge at Level 4 and a “write a postcard to a refugee” booth. So mark your calendars for June 22-23, and let’s stand together for a more inclusive world!
