Yet year after year, it gives gastronomes one more reason to flock to its ritzy premises, and it’s happening all over again from 12 to 14 August. If you’re perpetually in a mood for food, make sure you visit the fourth edition of the Epicurean Market that will satiate your curiosity of what’s in store for Marina Bay Sands, and even some insider tips that could transform you into a celebrity chef (in your own kitchen, at least!). We give you a sneak peek of what’s in store.
Here Comes A New Restaurant!
Another award-winning resto to enter the foodie fray? Yes, please! Yardbird Southern Table & Bar is only set to open in 2017, but you’ll be treated to a preview of its plates at Epicurean Market. Expect American Southern comfort food like fried chicken and waffles at the Yardbird booth in the Celebrity Chef restaurant arena; we’re sure you’ll wanna be on the waiting list once you’ve had your first bite.
But that’s not the only surprise – other top-notch restaurants making their debut at Epicurean Market, all the way from Venetian Macao, are North and The Golden Peacock. Save yourself a trip, and sample their Dongbei/Sichuan and Indian cuisine respectively at this festival. Your taste buds will be dancing with these dishes.
Learn Kitchen Secrets From The Chefs Themselves!
Keen on honing your culinary chops from the masters themselves? Get educated with cooking demonstrations and workshops held by Celebrity Chefs like Daniel Boulud (db Bistro & Oyster Bar), Tetsuya Wakuda (Waku Ghin), Justin Quek (Sky on 57) and more. Our very own Chef Justin shows you how to make the best use of regional ingredients with his Flavours Of Asia masterclass, while Adrift’s David Myers and Head Bartender Ruben Anandha get boozy with the Ultimate Cocktail Party.
And if you’ve always wanted to see a live version of Iron Chef, you can catch the Mystery Box Battle between Jonathan Kinsella (Executive Chef of db Bistro & Oyster Bar) and Joshua Brown (Executive Chef of CUT), as they whip up a competitive feast using ingredients unbeknown to them. What else will you learn? How to set up a microbrewery, the art of water pairing (even a masterclass on spirits, whisky and wine by Diageo) – you’ll be an absolute food whiz, we assure you!
