5 things to eat this weekend
What’s on the menu this week? We’re all geared up for cool cocktails and modern Asian at one of Club Street’s buzzing restaurant-bars, Mediterranean seafood buffet, and mouth-watering gourmet burgers!
#1 – Modern South-East Asian at Ding Dong
Besides its menu of innovative hand-crafted cocktails (we like aged tequila based Bahru Bootleg and yoghurt sake based Fujiyama!) Ding Dong should ring a bell for its impressive spread of modern Asian fare too. Try new plates like the homemade black miso tofu, roasted duck dumplings in duck consumme, crispy pig ears, and 48-hour beef cheek rendang. Save space for desserts like gula malacca with sago pudding and coconut and the Ding Dong frozen bibimbap!
#2 – Anniversary Tasting Menu at Pollen
Pollen is celebrating its second birthday with an exclusive dinner tasting menu, specially created by Executive Chef Colin Buchan and his team. This seven-course menu, themed ‘Celebrating the Past and the Present’, will feature signature classics and seasonal dishes like squid risotto, jasmine tea cured Norwegian salmon, Welsh lamb rump, and peanut butter jelly with cherry yuzu sorbet. Available from 29 June to 31 July at $190++ per pax, $330++ with wine pairing.
#3 – Mediterranean Medley at Carousel
Available from 29 June to 27 July, Royal Plaza on Scotts’s Carousel is offering a Mediterranean-inspired selection prepared by guest Chef Esmeraldo Oteruelo. Dig into a dazzling spread of Spanish specialties like seafood paella, Catalan fish stew, Sicilian seafood couscous, and ravioli with lobster and shrimp. Serving daily at $78++ per pax.
#4 – Gourmet Burgers at &Made Bistro
Burger lovers, listen up! &MADE Bistro has introduced three new mouth-watering burgers – Los Amigos, The Blue Moon, and The Chicken. Inspired by Mexican cuisine, Los Amigos features a juicy dry aged beef patty with creamy guacamole, jalapenos, and double cheese, while Japanese-influenced The Chicken presents teriyaki-style grilled chicken, vegetables, and sesame seeds drizzled in lemon mayonnaise. Folks who appreciate blue cheese can sink their teeth into The Blue Moon, accompanied with French blue cheese, grilled bacon, and vegetables.
#5 – Peranakan Afternoon Tea at Pacific Marketplace
Treat yourself to a spot of afternoon tea, with a nonya twist, at Pan Pacific’s Pacific Marketplace. Served in an exquisite four-tier tiffin carrier, reminiscent of lunchboxes from yesteryears, highlights include open-face otak sandwich with quail egg, nonya chicken curry served with freshly-baked French baguette, and traditional pastries like kueh lapis and onde onde. $58++ per pax with coffee and tea.
