Get your Christmas shopping done early at Singapore’s largest curated fair with an array of gifts, fashion, accessories, kids’ toys, and home decor
It doesn’t matter if you’re a true-blue shopaholic (like us!) or a thrifty bargain hunter: if there’s one shopping event that you absolutely can’t miss, it’s Boutiques at the Pit Building.
Singapore’s longest-running shopping event (14 years and counting!) has returned – and of course it’s bigger and better this time. We’re talking over 120 local independent vendors under one roof, offering chic apparel for men, women, and children, fashion accessories, home wares, and unique trinkets. ‘Retail heaven’ wouldn’t even begin to describe Boutiques at the Pit Building!
Before diving headfirst into the shopping mania, which takes place on Friday 6 November and Saturday 7 November 2015, here’s a little taste of Boutiques’ stellar line-up of vendors. Take notes and start planning your shopping list now!
Ladies first
Fashionistas, be warned: you’ll be sorely tempted to shop the entire range of women’s clothes and accessories at Boutiques – so proceed with caution. Jetting off to an exotic beach holiday? Update your vacation wardrobe with tropics-friendly resortwear from Bali-based Mist and Jasper Living’s collection of Keffiyeh cover-ups. Better yet, turn up the heat with Krag Nordic – their selection of sexy, statement swimwear from Denmark is perfect for any beach-going trendsetter.
No outfit would be complete without standout accessories. Luckily, Boutiques has them in spades: jewellery, bags, shoes…you name it! Best known for their line of trendy, hexagon print bags, Hong Kong label Mischa is a definite can’t-miss. We’ve also got our eye on Frankitas: who can resist their colourful collection of bags and purses made from traditional ethnic textiles like ikat and batik?
Jewellery lovers, get your hands on bohemian handmade bracelets from Let’s Stay In and Cat Preston’s contemporary collection of elegant rings, bracelets, and pendants made from stunning gemstones like blue sapphire, amethyst, moonstone, and topaz. If you prefer something bolder and edgier, check out Icelandic jewellery label Twin Within.
For the dapper gentleman
Who says shopping at Boutiques is just for the ladies? Kit out your Mister with the finest selection of menswear and accessories, like authentic Panama hats by Hat of Cain. Local gentlemen’s favourite, Vanda Fine Clothing, will be making its debut at Boutiques – be sure to check out their handmade ties and pocket squares. Another standout vendor is homegrown boutique threadbare & squirrel, with their range of international menswear labels like Sundays and I Love Ugly.
Kid-friendly
Little girls will surely love Little Friends by Lamasso’s line of gorgeous linen and cotton dresses and Madie Moo, which carries the popular girls’ clothing label Coco and Ginger. Dress up your boys in pure sartorial style – thanks to Baby Style Icon’s range of hip t-shirts, jeans, and fashionable accessories (like super-stylish aviator sunglasses for babies!).
Looking for the perfect baby shower gift? Search no further: Sammyeve specialises in beautiful personalised art prints while Domestic Objects offers adorable toys and handmade tee-pees to encourage fun playtimes.
Homeward bound
With the festive holidays coming up, there’s no better time to start shopping for your home. First stop: Make Room, a one-stop stop for Christmas decorations and Stylodeco for truly stylish furniture pieces and home wares. New to Boutiques is bespoke lampshade boutique Lampelier, while Bowerbird makes its welcomed return and it’s bringing back its beloved collection of colourful Asian-inspired porcelain pieces.
With this many standout vendors to visit at Boutiques, you’ll need plenty of time and stamina to cover the entire 23, 000 square foot space! But fret not: after shopping up a storm, visitors can relax at The Lounge area (beautifully decorated by Make Room with furniture provided by Originals) while they enjoy a mani by The Nail Social or sample tasty snacks, wine, and coffee provided by Cedele Bakery Café, Drink!, and Workspace Espresso Bar.
The best part? This marks a wonderful opportunity to support worthwhile causes while you shop at Boutiques’ socially responsible vendors! And for the first time ever, the event will hold an optional entrance donation, with 100% of proceeds going towards a local charity Babes Pregnancy Crisis Support Limited.
