Live music junkies, it’s an ace month for gigs in July! Champions of local music are in full force with concerts from The Sam Willows and Nathan Hartono, and pop elites like Sam Tsui, Kurt Schneider, and Selena Gomez are making their way too. Tegan & Sara: 29 July at The Star Theatre (Editor’s Pick)
It’s always a thrill to watch twins rock out on stage. For their sophomore gig here, these edgy, feisty twins will now perform with a new, glossy synth-pop direction, with trailblazing hits like “Closer” and “I Was A Fool”. Hopefully, we get some of their folk-hinting, indie-rock material that made them hipster idols in the noughties!

While YouTube sensations are a dime a dozen these days, these two are probably as big and prolific as they come (they have a billion views between them!). One, a powerhouse vocalist; the other, a genius producer and instrumentalist – together, they’ll put on an extraordinary gig full of thumping Top 40s and mind-blowing mash-ups.
