Mandala Club and Opera Gallery present “Homage to the Masters”, a collective ode to the brilliance of Masters in art history, and a celebration of the many artists in the long line of history who carry on the legacy by reconstructing and reinvigorating their artistic practices.
Featuring works by Lita Cabellut and Manolo Valdés, this joint exhibition is being hosted in a purpose-built space within a 20th century heritage-listed building and home of Mandala Club.
In this exhibition, we see the voices of legendary artists resonate through the imagery of Lita Cabellut, as she draws upon works from renowned names in Modern Art such as Egon Schiele, Fernand Léger, and Andy Warhol.
Manolo Valdés takes inspiration from works by key figures from art history, including Diego Velázquez, Henri Matisse, and Pablo Picasso, utilising a broad range of raw materials to subvert, reinvent or reinvigorate these familiar images and their established contexts.
The show is part of a long-term commitment by Mandala Club to promote and support the local art scene and the creative industry through its artist residency programme, artist talks, and collaborations with art galleries. Mandala Club is committed to enabling ‘meaningful connections that matter’ through a variety of pursuits, notably art, and will officially launch in November 2021.
The exhibition is open to the public from 25 September to 14 October (daily except on Mondays).
