Coffee snob or casual procaffeinator? We’ve got the beans for you.
Hands up if you can’t function without your morning coffee. To make it a good one, you’ll want the best beans from top roasters in the world. That’s why we’re saying thanks a latte to the BeansGrocer for supplying coffees from across the globe. Stocking beans hailing from Central America to Southeast Asia, think of this store as your gateway to international brews, with the largest curation of local coffee roasters. The beans are curated on a rotational basis, so check back often to see what’s new! Here, we spotlight a few of our current faves and where they’re from.
El Salvador: Butterfingers from Hook Coffee
Homegrown coffee roaster Hook Coffee is known for its ethically and sustainably sourced beans. That, and the intriguing flavours they bring to our morning coffee. Case in point: Butterfingers, a bourbon variety that the brand sources from El Salvador. A brew with notes of butterscotch cookies? We’re sold.
Brazil: Marimbus Espresso from Market Lane
From Melbourne’s Market Lane comes a beautiful Brazilian roast that’s guaranteed to perk you up. Roasted for espresso, this pulped natural coffee from the Bahia state can be enjoyed black or with milk. Either way, you’ll savour the taste of hazelnut and milk chocolate in this roast – the ideal mood-booster, we’d say.
India: Bengal Tiger from 8 a.m. Coffee
Bengal Tiger is an Arabica brew locally roasted by 8 a.m. Coffee. Fun fact: these beans are picked from the Thalanar Estates, located on the periphery of a wildlife sanctuary that houses the Anamalai Tiger Reserve. We’re seriously stoked that this unique coffee is stocked at the BeansGrocer! A roast as bold as the animal it’s named after, this cuppa offers hints of hazelnut, chocolate, dark berries and citrus all in one sip.
Costa Rica: Aquiares Estate from Kalve Coffee Roaster
Latvia-based Kalve Coffee Roaster prides itself on outstanding, environmentally-responsible coffees. Wake up to a multi-dimensional cuppa with the Aquiares Estate beans. The largest farm in Costa Rica, this estate boasts lush flora and fauna – and you can taste it in the coffee. Think notes of black tea, melon and grapefruit all in this smooth brew.
Ethiopia: Oh My Goat from Pink Banana
Pink Banana is one of our go-to brands for fun, vibrant coffee. Stocked at the BeansGrocer is Oh My Goat, sourced from Limu in southern Ethiopia. This is a lesser-known region for procuring coffee beans as compared to neighbouring areas, but the beans here promise a deliciously distinct flavour. Expect bright, clean and balanced coffee with notes of pineapples, berries and passion fruit.
