The Poetry in Life ~ Schumann, Adès, Brahms is an exploration of Schumann’s literary life and a look into the works of Schumann’s prolific parallel, the contemporary British composer Thomas Adès, and the musical poetry found in the mature and late years of Brahms.
Join evening concerts on 18-19 May that feature music by Schumann and Brahms, and participate in a sharing recital on 18 May which looks into specific examples from Schumann and Adès’ instrumental output (solo piano and chamber music), in which the written word in the form of poetry has had influence. The young ones will be equally delighted by two specially designed interactive concerts for children on 19 May.
