We tried the lavish spread at the revamped RISE Restaurant – from fresh oysters and chilli crab to ayam percik and barbecue ribs – and here are the highlights
When we’re feeling #spendy, Marina Bay Sands is the one place that we make a beeline for. Boasting international designer labels, fancy jewellers, exclusive beauty brands and a dizzying array of incredible dining options, it’s basically a luxury shopping mecca. After an entire day of shopping with our mates, our go-to resto to fill up our tummies has always been RISE Restaurant – after all, with its sheer variety of yummy international and local food, we know that our cravings will be thoroughly satisfied.
Following a short hiatus, RISE Restaurant is back with a refreshed look inspired by nature and sustainability (think: lots and lots of greenery), and is raising the bar with seven themed nights a week and brand new signature dishes available every day. Time to whip ‘em forks out!
Savour aromatic Malay flavours on Balik Kampung Mondays
Relish authentic Malay cuisine that’s teeming with spices, such as the signature ayam percik in tangy peanut sauce. Made up of locally sourced hormone-free Sakura chicken that’s marinated for 24 hours, candlenut, turmeric and fresh herbs from RISE’s very own herb garden, this Javanese dish is simply mouthwatering. The ikan pepes is also not to be missed -the sustainable grilled fish wrapped in banana leaf is bursting with flavours. For desserts, grab a goreng pisang (fried banana) or coconut ice-cream topped with gula Melaka (palm sugar) syrup.
Dive into fresh and sustainable seafood on Seafood Night Tuesdays
Seafood fans, you may wanna sit down for this: an entire area is dedicated to the finest goodies from the ocean, which include freshly shucked oysters, delish crabs, prawns, mussels, scallops and sashimi. One of our top picks is the signature baked salt crust sustainable barramundi – hormone- and antibiotic-free fish covered in a combination of salt, dill, lemon, fennel and coriander seeds.
Tuck into comfort food from the USA on American Feast Wednesdays
There’s nothing quite like good ol’ American nosh to feed the soul. Load up on a New England-inspired clam bake chockfull of sustainable seafood, bite into sinfully scrumptious buttermilk fried chicken sliders, get your hands on barbecue baby back ribs, and of course, slice into the decadent peanut butter Mississippi mud cake.

Unleash your carnivorous side with barbecue meats on Backyard Barbeque Thursdays
With an outdoor area especially reserved for smoking and grilling meats, you just know that RISE takes barbecue very seriously. Stack your plates with the signature home smoked BBQ beef brisket (hormone-free Australian beef marinated with a special rub and fresh herbs), then sink your teeth into other meaty goodness like honey lavender grilled lamb t-bone and grilled mahi-mahi with salsa verde, and go all out at the desserts station with indulgent deep-fried fried snickers bars and s’mores.
Feast on European Classics on Fridays
Epicureans with a taste for European fare, you don’t have to travel far to get your fix. Start off by constructing your own platter with Gruyère, Brie, Camembert cheeses and more, and slurp up a classic french onion soup with cheese croutons, before moving on to exquisite French dishes like salmon en croûte (baked in a crust) and all-time British classics like beef wellington. Don’t forget to snag a delectable banana Crêpe Suzette to end your European feast on a sweet note!

Munch on local grub on Singaporean Favourites Saturdays
Everything we adore about Singapore food comes together in this spread. The star is undoubtedly the signature Singapore Chili Crab, succulent crab drenched in RISE’s very own secret sweet and spicy sauce. Scoop up a bowl of creamy laksa prepared on-the-spot at the live cooking station, pick up a couple of satay skewers grilled right before you, or dig into the ever-so-reliable Hainanese chicken rice. One word: shiok!
Taste the Treasures of China on Sundays
If you have a penchant for spicy and tangy grub, drop by RISE on Sundays for a Chinese blowout. Chow down on comforting Fujian steamed pumpkin rice, pick up slices of five spice honey glazed pork, and get your fill of spicy dandan noodles, and finish off with a subtly sweet osmanthus flower wolfberry jelly.
