The Local People group is at it again in reinventing spaces for its popular market. During the Labour Day long weekend, head to Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 for handcrafted goods and artisanal food
No matter how far you’ve globe-trotted, there’s something you can’t deny: few airports in the world are like Changi Airport. Aside from being a world-class transit hub, it’s a great destination in itself thanks to its myriad options for entertainment, shopping and dining.
This month, Singapore’s airport is reinventing itself as more than just a home to luxe layovers and duty-free shopping. With the help of The Local People (the purveyors of cool art markets), it’s set to be the next meeting ground for artisans and craft-hunting hipsters. Held at Terminal 3, the market will feature all the nuts and bolts of TLP’s typically buzzy events.
Bring your own shopping bag and loads of cash as you’ll be scooping up a tonne of handcrafted goods at its many booths – think customised notebooks, slogan t-shirts, wall art and cool earrings. Best of all, it’s happening during the Labour Day long weekend, so you can quit worrying about work for a minute and even make repeated visits.
While the lineup for food and beverages has yet to be confirmed, we recommend coming hungry (or peckish, at least) as there’ll be plenty of grub, drinks and booze galore. Watch this space for more updates.
Travel Essentials by The Local People x Singapore Changi Airport Art Market is happening on 29 and 30 April, 12-9pm, at basement three of Changi Airport Terminal 3.
