Perfect for group dining and after-work cocktails near the city, DON HO is the latest brainchild of the party promoters behind Garden Beats
Party promoters, Sunshine Nation (who’ve brought us kickass events like the Garden Beats Festival) now rolls out a party for your palate with DON HO Social Kitchen & Bar on Keong Said Road, its first foray into the Singapore food scene. The industrial, tropical-themed resto will feature an innovative fusion menu by Chef Shiman Woon that blends Eastern and Western influences.
Expect novel menu items like the sweet potato hummus with hazelnut dukkah, burnt onions and home-made focaccia, and an ash-cured ocean trout pastrami with English mustard cream and trout roe. And, as the “social kitchen” moniker would suggest, an evening here is geared towards group dining, so you’ll want to head down with your friends.
True to its Sunshine Nation pedigree, this waterhole lets you kick back to a playlist of Motown soul while sampling their cocktail menu of fresh tropical creations with a DON HO twist. Our bevvie pick? You’ll want to get your hands on their Pianolo, a whisky-based cocktail made with fresh lime, cranberry, hazelnut syrup, and home-made espresso. Trust us, you’ll want to stick around way past your bedtime.
DON HO, 1 Keong Saik Road, Singapore 089109. p. 6223 5001. Open Tue-Sat 6pm-12am. Closed Sun-Mon.
