Cooking lab by day, crafts-inspired restaurant by night - Tanah Liat is where you can feast on plant-based and pescatarian specialties in Nusa Dua…
Since swinging open its stylish doors, Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort has been rolling out a number of culinary showstoppers to add to its portfolio of restaurants, bars and experiences. Unlike any other, Tanah Liat is the latest must-try destination at the resort – an innovative and engaging cooking lab by day, and an arts-and-crafts-inspired restaurant by night.
Focusing on experiential food with Bali-sourced seasonal seafood and plant-based produce, this new restaurant is leading the charge for the island’s movement towards more healthy, conscious eating. And that’s not all. It’s also dedicated to honouring the craftsmanship of Bali, with arts, crafts and local pottery on show throughout its earthy and indigenous interiors…
You’ll love it because… Tanah Liat is adding a whole new layer to Nusa Dua’s culinary offerings, dishing up innovative plant-based, vegetarian and pescatarian dishes that we can’t get enough of. And to top off this conscious concept, the restaurant is also paying homage to Bali’s artisans, with artisanal decor that showcases local heritage through art, crafts and pottery.
You’ll want to try the… signature pescatarian and plant-based creations. Start with a half-dozen Balinese oysters, freshly caught from nearby waters. They come topped with a tamarillo granita and cucumber foam, plus chopped shallots and vinegar for a satisfying tang. Then, move on to the vegan-friendly Beyond Meat Lasagna. It’s made with peas, brown rice, green beans and fava beans, combined with layers of eggless pasta, soy béchamel, tomato and vegan cheese. To finish it all off, try the Flexi Chocolate Ganache perfect for sharing. It’s a mix of deliciously bitter chocolate with a sweet mango sorbet, a zesty passion fruit crémeux, and a sprinkling of coconut snow.
Come back for the… Pottery atelier! Tanah Liat will soon be launching an outdoor workshop where you’ll get to try your hand at pottery making using the on-site kiln. It’s just one of the many distinctive daytime experiences to take part in at Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort, best enjoyed with a post-pottery pescatarian feast!
