Sunday Lunch at Salt Tapas
Fancy spending Sunday by the pool, the kids entertained by endless activities, while you enjoy some seriously top class cuisine? We certainly do, which is why Honeycombers headed to Sentosa Seminyak for their Sunday Family Lunch.
Sentosa, a little oasis tucked at the end of a discreet laneway off Jalan Petitenget, is home to Salt Tapas & Bar Bali. Opened last year to great fanfare, it is under the helm of foodie guru Luke Mangan, so you know your taste buds are in for a treat.
The kids’ menu includes favourites like spaghetti, lasagna, fish and chips, burgers and hot dogs. The only problem you’ll have is tearing your littlies away from the craft section to sit down and eat. Ours were so caught up making picture frames and paintings that we didn’t hear a peep for hours. Unlimited churros kept them going when they needed a snack and the swimming pool with waterfall feature was perfect for a game of Marco Polo.
While the kids were splashing around and creating masterpieces, we enjoyed one of the tastiest – and most value-for-money – set menu lunches in town. The delicious beetroot, asparagus, egg, radish and rocket salad was the most sublime of starters and the lamb cutlets – an absolute treat in Bali – were the perfect mains. Of course, we couldn’t pass up on the side of parmesan and truffle French fries.
The DJ, accompanied by live musicians, was spinning apt Sunday session tunes, so we decided that leaving wasn’t really an option. We kicked back and ordered a dessert – we would highly recommend the liquorice parfait! – and a bottle of excellent Spanish wine. The afternoon rolled on, the sun got lower and lower, and with everyone so blissed out, we were tempted to stay on. Alas, it was a school night and all good things must come to an end.
But that’s ok, there’s always next Sunday! And the one after that. And after that.
