A design-first hideaway wrapped in greenery – here’s what it’s really like to stay at Lyvin Bingin in Uluwatu.
Looking for a Bali stay that nails both luxury and laid-back island living? Lyvin Bingin should be on your list. This boutique collection of 10 design-driven villas sits in the heart of Bingin, just minutes from some of Bali’s best beaches. It’s the latest project from the visionary couple behind several of Bali’s most distinctive stays, so expect thoughtful details from the moment you walk in. But what I love most? This villa estate is built around the trees, so you get to live amongst nature and luxury.
Here, I’ll take you through what makes Lyvin Bingin stand out – from its design-forward approach and rare sense of privacy, to the rooftop rituals you’ll want to be part of. Not to mention, these villas feel more like a home than a holiday rental.
Welcome to Lyvin Bingin: a villa estate built around nature

You’ll love it because… Lyvin Bingin didn’t forget about nature when perfecting its design. The founders chose to keep every mature teak tree on the land (some are decades old!) and built the villas around them. So instead of clearing the land, they created an immersive, forest-like hideaway that’s rare in Uluwatu – and in all of south Bali, for that matter.
As for the design? The aesthetic is clean and calming – limestone textures, slatted façades, custom teak furniture and breezy open-plan living spaces that spill out to your private pool. Each villa has three bedrooms across two or three levels, giving you plenty of room to roam barefoot with a coffee in hand.
You’ll want to experience… the rooftop rituals at Lyvin Bingin. A handful of these villas come with their own rooftop terrace, and yes, I managed to snag one. Sunrise yoga above the treetops is a ridiculously peaceful way to start the day, while at sunset, I highly recommend heading up in time for golden hour. It feels like your own open-air bar, and with a built-in BBQ, you could easily host dinner under the stars.
Come back for… that calm, homely feeling. There’s something about the space that feels grounding: natural textures everywhere, generous ceilings, soft light filtering through the trees. The vibe is serene without trying too hard. You simply arrive, exhale, and immediately start planning your next stay before you’ve even unpacked.
Whether you’re after a reset or a longer stint with your favourite people, Lyvin Bingin strikes that sweet spot between luxury, comfort and familiarity. And that’s exactly why I’ll be checking in again.
Good to know: All villas have three bedrooms, set across two or three storeys. Four of them come with a rooftop terrace.
