From Marilyn Monroe’s world debut, to NASA’s space milestones, 1959 is the era when legends were born. And legendary is what you can expect from 1959 Cocktail Bar and Dance Club. It all begins with the heart and soul of the bar: the experimental cocktails. Skilfully handcrafted and ever-innovative, the menu is carefully curated with ten signatures and eight local heritage cocktails.
Our fave has to be the uber-Instagrammable Incurably Romantic. This signature cocktail encapsulates Marilyn Monroe’s bombshell movie persona as well as her real-life bright and romantic self. It’s a refreshing combo of Sierra Antiguo Plata Tequila, spice syrup, lemon and a kick of basil jalapeño, topped with a rich layer of frothy albumen. Or for a more potent mix, you can’t go wrong with The G.O.A.T, made with Talisker 10 year-old single-malt whisky, an ode to Obama Senior. Got a sweet tooth? Try the Guilty Pleasure with a hint of chocolate, or the heritage cocktail, Banyu Klepon, inspired by the traditional Indonesian pandan and coconut dessert.

Each creation is balanced, elegant and sustainably-made, and each one tells the story of the legends of 1959.
