Urban Ventures Street Party is back at Keong Saik Road for more music, fashion, food and booze, as well as shopping at the Underground Market and Artisan’s Market, literature with Wordsmithing Avenue, and a drag performance not to be missed!
This Saturday 21st, see one of Singapore’s hippest streets transform into one lively bash this October (before the killer Halloween parties begin, of course). Lopelab’s bringing the Urban Ventures Street Party back to the streets of Keong Saik Road, with the theme of celebrating ‘Self-Expression’ through all sorts of rad art, such as poetry, photography, music, fashion, drag and more. And if this is anything like its past shenanigans, we’re betting there’ll be scrumptious bites and tipples from popular F&B stalls and a musical bonanza of local acts. Check out these amazing highlights for a kickass weekend!
Feel the beat and move your feet
What’s a party without any music? Bringing you the best tunes, the Live and Local Stage will be taken over by local bands like Midst with its chill-out electronic set, shoegaze band Cosmic Child, Subsonic Eye with its upbeat alternative pop, and more that will leave you moving and grooving.
The music doesn’t stop there; DJ Sivanesh Pillai will be taking you into the night with spins and playlists jam-packed with funk, soul, disco, afro, latin, house, techno, drum and bass, and broken beats. Having played alongside international counterparts such as DJ Fudge, DJ Maestro, Fred Everything and Satin Jackets, you’ll know that dancing is mandatory at this heck of a party!
Lip sync battles with Singapore’s glamourous queens
As RuPaul would say, “The time has come to lip sync for your life!” Catch Singapore’s feistiest drag queens including Arya Dunn, Dahlia Rose, Lily Elle, Tiara and Yeast Monster give their all for the lip sync crown while serving a whole lot of glitz and glam. This is one theatrical show you wouldn’t want to miss!
Shop ‘till you drop at these pop-up markets
Had a long week at work? Unwind with a retail therapy sesh at the Underground Market and the Artisan Market here. Shopaholics, bargain hunters and window shoppers can snap up pre-loved items and new faves from social media stars Irina Tan, Valerie Wang, Audrey Goh and Hanya Seah as well as celeb stylist Keith Png at the Underground Market. If you prefer something more bespoke, check out the Artisan’s Market, where labels such as Pencilled, The Plain Supplies, Pin and Pongs, Hush Candles and more will be selling their handcrafted wares at the pop-up.
