Welcome to your wonderland, fitness fans. Decathlon's newest store of 4000sq metres is opening in Joo Koon with a whopping inventory of 100,000 sportswear and outdoor essentials.
We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: there’s more to the West of Singapore than meets the eye. Once just home to some of Singapore’s best universities and polytechnics, this ‘hood is seriously up and coming. These days, the thriving West region sees plenty of crowds, thanks to its multiple shopping malls with fast fashion stores galore, factory outlet shops of the most glamorous brands in the world, and sprawling parks. Now adding to the lineup is Decathlon’s largest store, located in Joo Koon’s Fairprice Hub. Yup, it may be located at the end of the island (or at least that’s how it seems on the MRT’s green line), but we promise it’s worth the journey.
Spanning 4000 sq. metres, the store’s a fitness fan’s wonderland – it houses over 100,000 sporting products across 25 of its in-house brands. No matter your sport of choice, you’ll find what you need here. Think everything from fitness wear and weights, kettlebells and balls for all sports, to portable goalposts, basketball hoops and table tennis nets. Same goes for adventure enthusiasts, as trekking shoes, accessories as well as camping gear can all be found here. In true Decathlon fashion, you can expect everything to be at incredibly reasonable prices and of stellar quality.
Best of all is how experience-focused the store is. The store houses 10 experience zones for shoppers to try out their equipment before buying, including Singapore’s first slack line, a golf putting green, a mini-football arena and a even running track with two different surfaces. Another thing that sets the Joo Koon outlet apart? The store will be the brand’s first e-commerce store – order online through its new website (to launch in June) and items will be directly picked from the store and packaged for delivery within the same day.
