Whenever someone asks us about the best places for luxury shopping on Orchard Road (which, by the way, is all the time!), our answer always includes Scotts Square. The boutique mall, sandwiched between the prestigious Grand Hyatt and Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, is home to some of the hottest names in the fashion industry. We’re talking about Hermès, Michael Kors, On Pedder and, more recently, Alexander McQueen and Delvaux (opening soon).
The swanky shopping destination is also a haven for foodies, with an array of well-loved cafés and restaurants like Wild Honey, Maison Kayser, Dôme Café and Crystal Jade Pristine. To add on to these delectable options, two new gems have just joined the dining scene at Scotts Square: the much-raved-about London Fat Duck and the oh-so-swish Time & Flow Champagne.
If you haven’t heard of them, we’re here to help you get acquainted with these hot new spots (before your foodie friends judge you for not keeping up!). For juicy, melt-in-your-mouth roast duck, hit up London Fat Duck; the Hong Kong style restaurant serves a specific breed of quackers that are flown in from Ireland and prided as the “wagyu of ducks”. Be sure to also order a plate of utterly-divine char siew to go along with your posh grub. Our only gripe is how long it takes to get a table (which can take up to 45 minutes, even on a weeknight). But its popularity is surely a great sign, and good things come to those who wait, right? Meanwhile, read our tempting review of the establishment here.
Champagne and wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts, say hello to your pleasuredome at Time & Flow. The salon specialises in exclusive and organic vinos and bubbles, like the Saint Véran Tradition chardonnay. Its resident sommelier also conducts workshops at their in-house academy – daily through August, whoop! During the fizzy, fun session, you’ll learn about the complexity of what you’re drinking and its rich history.
