New year, new hue! 2017 promises to be a period of new beginnings with its official colour: Greenery
Take note, folks: Rose Quartz and Serenity are out. The colour experts at Pantone have spoken and it is now official: the colour of the year for 2017 is Greenery.
It’s not just any old green, of course. Pantone 15-0343 is described as “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade” to symbolise new beginnings. So prepare yourselves: as the new year kicks off, it’ll only be a matter of time before we spot this fresh hue everywhere – from fashion and beauty, to interior design, architecture, and retail.
Every year, the Pantone Color Institute (deemed the global colour authority) picks one hue that best reflects what’s trending in global culture. The Pantone colour forecasting tradition first kicked off in 1999, when Cerulean, a serene sky blue, was named the colour of the new millennium. In an unprecedented move, last year’s honour was shared between two pastel hues (a dusty pink and sky blue) to evoke harmony.
So what do you think about Greenery?
