Is your face in need of a thorough exfoliation or hydration boost? Reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and puffy eyes with this super facial that uses cutting-edge technology for visibly younger-looking skin
Does your face look like it could do with a little R&R? Mine too, which is why I recently jumped at the chance to road test the geneO+ Super Facial from Estetica. Promising visibly younger skin after just one treatment, this brightening, tightening, hydrating facial sounded like just the boost my tired skin, ravaged by the Singaporean sun, needed.
Now don’t get me wrong, I try my best to look after my face; I’ve got a truckload of lotions and potions at home that I religiously use. In spite of this, I still feel as though fine lines and the first traces of proper wrinkles are setting in. In a last-ditch attempt to keep botox at bay, this facial sounded too good to be true. I put it to the test to see if it really could halt the dreaded ageing process, read on for the results!
There are eight Estetica outlets dotted around Singapore, and I popped into the Katong branch for my treatment. Upon arriving, my treatment was thoroughly explained and the first step of the process, a skin analysis, was conducted. Trust me; seeing your face up close on a microscopic level is surprisingly terrifying. And it transpires that. despite my exceptional (or so I thought) cleansing and moisturising rituals, my skin was not in good shape. I was starting to show the first signs of lacking collagen (an unfortunate side-effect of ageing), and my pores were off-the-chart clogged. So gross, but so true. Thankfully, this wonder treatment could help with all of these issues, and then some.
The geneO+ Super Facial is a machine therapy, triple-threat, face overhaul. Using cutting-edge technology, it combines microdermabrasion, deep facial rejuvenation, and skin oxygenation to exfoliate, hydrate, and heal the skin. As I reclined on the comfy treatment bed, I couldn’t wait to see the effects unfold right before my very eyes.
It’s a three-stage process that takes time, so make sure you’ve got a couple of hours to relax and enjoy the treatment. Step one is a blast of TriPollar RF, designed to tighten, firm, and rejuvenate the skin. Step two is a triple-whammy OxyGeneo treatment that exfoliates, oxygenates, and infuses products deep into the skin. And the final stage is a HA+ Infusion that uses hyaluronic acid to boost collagen production. If this failed to perk up my tired skin, nothing would!
First up, was the TriPollar RF stage (“what the hell is TriPollar RF?” I hear you cry!). In non-technical terms, it’s essentially a blast of radio-frequency therapy that aims to tighten, firm, and rejuvenate the skin. This sophisticated piece of kit delivers targeted and optimal radio-frequency energy right down to the dermal layer. The deep heating effect accelerates fat cell metabolism to increase collagen regeneration that results in younger looking skin immediately. Ever the sceptic, my therapist did half my face first so I could compare the before and after result easily. Amazingly, I could see a difference! The treated side was definitely perkier and looked plumper. Result!
Step two is an intense exfoliation, infusion, and oxygenation process and I’m not gonna lie; I was slightly apprehensive that, given a machine is involved, my skin would end up being buffed until it was red raw. Thankfully, the only sensation I felt during the entire treatment was a slight warmth which was not in the least bit uncomfortable.
During this stage, a gel comprising natural active ingredients was applied all over my face and neck. These ingredients react with the oxygenising effects of the machine, before turning into exfoliators that banish dead skin cells and generate carbon dioxide. The process increases blood flow and tissue oxygen levels, meaning more oxygen-rich blood is transported to the exfoliated area and improves skin cell metabolism (this is good news for your face). The final stage involves applying a treatment gel (you can pick from a Neorevive gel for rejuvenation and anti-aging, or Neobright for skin brightening and texture improvement). No surprises here that I opted for the anti-aging potion to cleanse my skin. After round two, my face was super smooth, brighter, and firmer.
The final stage of the process is a HA+ Infusion. As the machine swept in small circular motions across my face, it emitted acoustic waves that penetrated deep below the surface of my skin. The aim? To increase cellular metabolism and blood circulation in a bid to boost collagen production and improve moisture retention. Miraculously, my eyes were visibly less puffy and the appearance of my pores was noticeably reduced immediately afterwards. Huzzah!
I left the Estetica clinic with a perky, tighter, brighter face. I could certainly notice the difference and subsequent unprompted comments from friends confirmed my skin was indeed looking radiant. And that was after only one treatment, just imagine what a series could do! We recommend: your face will thank you.
