Step away from the tweezers! Right now it’s all about the brow; we put Browhaus’ threading treatment to the test to get that eyebrows on fleek look of the year. Here is the result!
2016: The year of the eyebrow. Thanks to Cara Delevigne et al, brow game is serious business. Something that will come as no surprise to the preening gurus at Browhaus. Leading the way in peeper primping, I’ve long been a fan of its fluttery eyelash extensions. And when the opportunity came along to up my brow game with a threading sesh, I thought I’d give it a whirl. A lifelong plucker, I’d never felt the need to get threaded. After all, it wouldn’t make that much of a difference… right?
Firstly, I love the quirky cool interior of the stores; it’s a feast for the eyes while they’re getting beautified. Secondly, the staff here are so well trained in the art of grooming that every treatment I’ve ever had seems to take minimal time and delivers maximum results. But even I was amazed at just how quick the threading appointment actually was. Upon arriving I was whisked to a discreet booth at the back for my treatment. Five minutes later, it was all over. Let me tell you now though folks, that five minutes was game changing.
As I reclined in the chair, my therapist presented me with a mirror and explained exactly what she was going to do. Reassuring me I’d definitely end up with brows on fleek, the mirror got whisked away and the thread came out. I ain’t gonna lie; it’s a little bit sore, but no pain no gain, right? However, so swift was the process it was over before the ouchies fully registered. Then, voila; as if by magic, I had brand new brows with not a stray hair in sight! Thinking the difference would only be subtle enough for me to notice, I’ve been pleasantly surprised subsequently by the numerous friends who have commented on my perfectly coiffed brow sitch. Result!
To make matters even better, Browhaus are giving away one of its amazing waterproof Brow Lead pencils (U.P. $17.90) with every threading session from now ’til 31 August*. Coming in three separate shades, it filled out my brows nicely and has ensured my brow game remains strong nearly two weeks on from the initial threading. Claiming to be waterproof, I put it to the test with a punishing HIIT session. The result? My brows were the only thing looking good after the workout; that pencil does not smudge or budge! And any product that can beat the Singaporean heat, let alone survive an exercise class so brutal an Olympian would struggle, gets a gold medal in my book.
The good news? I totally love my new brows. The bad news? This threading revelation means I’ve got another beauty treatment to add to the monthly must-do list!
