We don’t know about you, but a celebrity chef restaurant never fails to get us excited. Plus, there’s plenty more reasons to get you hopping from place to place this March, including newcomers by the Unlisted Collection group, and hip retro joints for you to kick back with a drink in hand.

Adrift
Another celebrity chef restaurant has opened at Marina Bay Sands, and this time it’s by the award-winning restaurateur, David Myers. Located in the atrium of Marina Bay Sands, Adrift features Modern Asian creations like a foie gras banh mi and fried oysters with green garlic. Find out more.

LongPlay
The folks at Unlisted Collection (if you recall, they unveiled Sorrel late January) are at it again with the launch of hip hangout LongPlay. The place to be for music lovers, LongPlay doesn’t just offer classic drinks (like the Rock Island Iced Tea –their rendition of the Long Island cocktail) and delish bar bites (buttermilk chicken, mac and cheese, and the perfectly spiced togarashi squid have our vote), but also a chance for you to listen to their impressive collection of vintage vinyl records.
LongPlay, 4 Haji Lane / 33 Arab Street, Singapore 199732, p. 6291 3323. Open Tue-Sat 12pm-3pm, 6pm-12am, Sun 2pm-11pm. Closed Mon.
Meat Smith
Also by Unlisted Collection is the spanking new Meat Smith – a 60-seater smokehouse and diner on Telok Ayer Street (right across the road from sister outlet The Market Grill). Enjoy tucking into Meat Smith’s menu highlights – American-style meats handled by specialist smokers – but be warned: the restaurant does not take reservations so be prepared to stand in line.
Meat Smith, 167 Telok Ayer Street, Singapore 068618.
Wildfire Kitchen + Bar
Load up on protein at this barbecue restaurant on Evans Road. Burgers and steaks take centre stage, with must-tries such as The Works burger (contains all the sinful stuff, from bacon to rosti potatoes and parmesan crisps) – great for those with a monstrous appetite – and other items such as the hanger steak and the lamb rack.
Wildfire Kitchen + Bar, 26 Evans Road, Singapore 259367, p. 6734 2080. Open daily 11am-10:30pm.
Druggists
Step back in time at Druggists, a cool little joint that shares the building space with the Singapore Chinese Druggists Association. The place is uber retro, with a kopitiam-style interior and décor (y’know, marble table tops, wooden chairs, old-school tiles). Help yourself to locally inspired bites like coffee pork ribs and paper wrapped chicken and wash it all down with a drink of your choice. With over 20 types of beer on tap, we think you might be more than a little spoilt for choice.
Druggists, 119 Tyrwhitt Road, Singapore 207547, p. 93851752. Open Tue-Thu 4pm-11pm, Fri 4pm-12am, Sat 2pm-12am, Sun 2pm-11pm. Closed Mon.
Ginzawa
Expect elevated versions of your favourite Japanese dishes here at Ginzawa, Highlights include the Kurobuta braised pork don, the tai moto yaki (grilled fillet of snapper with caramelised egg yolk sauce), and the prettily-plated chirashi don, which comes with 11 types of seafood.
Ginzawa, #01-06/07 Palais Renaissance, 390 Orchard Road, Singapore 238871, p. 6736 0100. Open daily 12pm-3pm, 6pm-10:30pm.
Madrinaa Italiano
The long-standing Michelangelo’s has, unfortunately, closed its doors. However, in its place, a new Italian restaurant has popped up. Madrinaa Italiano offers a myriad of Italian dishes, including a truffle and mushroom risotto and a foie gras penne with smoked duck and white wine cream sauce.
Madrinaa Italiano, #01-60 Chip Bee Gardens, Block 44 Jalan Merah Saga, Holland Village, Singapore 278116, p. 6474- 7342. Open daily 11:30am-2:30pm, 5:30pm-10:30pm.
